I am fourteen years old and come from Brisbane Queensland. The fact that I have wanted to be an entertainer since I was three years old and have never strayed from this dream no matter what hardship I have had to overcome for the fulfillment of my dream has always impressed my family.
Growing up I always have listened to a wide range of music. With the older generations of the family listening to country music like Waylon Jennings,
Johnny Cash, Slim Dusty and rock ‘n’ roll like Elvis, Kiss and Suzie Quatro to name a few, with my own selection of hip hop and modern rock combining to make a good cross section of listening.
When I was about twelve my father suggested I try singing country music instead of hip hop so I did and loved it that much I stuck with country. To me country music has meaning and always means something to some ones heart.
Some people have commented I have an American country “Twang” in my voice, but this makes me laugh to myself as I have never been outside Australian shores.
The artists that have inspired me most were Tammy Wynette and Lorretta Lyn. Other country artists I love listening to are Adam Brand, Brooks and Dunn, Catherine Britt, Sarah Evans, Melinda Schnieder and Allan Jackson to name a few.
Even though I had a major illness for some years I always remained positive, strong and determined to achieve my goal in life.
With myself and three younger siblings to look after my parents are kept busy, they never pressure us into doing anything but always guide us in what we want to do making sure we accomplish a good education with a set career goal in mind at the same time keeping level headed and having a lot of fun.
I had a ball at the Tamworth Country music festival this year and met a lot of new friends that I hope to catch up with in Tamworth at the 2009 Country Music Festival.
